We couldn’t be more excited to welcome McRae to the Yerba Cha family this month. We were so excited about it we decided to take our campers to Oregon with the homies and make an edit.

"You know how sometimes, if you’re open and accepting, life gives you exactly what you need at just the right time? Well this is one of those stories. I was introduced to Ben in spring of 2020 by an old skier friend of mine. He got mentioning this new company he is launching called Yerba Cha, and began filling me in on the details of the product and what the company was all about. I was immediately intrigued and asked how I could get involved. At the time I was just wrapping up a near 10 year career as a professional competitive skier, and was beginning to transition into full time film and content production, etc. Taking my career to the next chapter so to speak. I was under contract with Rockstar Energy, but I knew it would not last forever as they focus heavily on competitive athletes at the top of their game, and let’s face it, I was phasing out of the spotlight. I made the decision to invest in Yerba Cha while I awaited the imminent end of my time with Rockstar, at which point I would go all in with Yerba Cha, both as an athlete and investor. This would be a relationship I can build and grow for years to come. A new beginning. “

“Well, later that year I got some rather unexpected and life changing news. While I knew it was coming sooner than later, this was sooner than sooner, and it was a big blow to take on the income side of things. I received a call from my manager at the time, Dylan Malone, telling me that Rockstar would not be exercising their option to renew my contract. As of January 2021, after nearly a decade with the energy drink sponsor, I was a free agent. While it was an uncomfortable transition to make, deep down I knew that it was life pushing me in the right direction, and I could now focus on something I truly believed in. Yerba Cha is ahead of the curve and part of a movement towards more natural, healthy, sustainable sources of energy. I am beyond excited to dive into this new chapter of my career, and to help build this brand and this innovative new product from the ground up. Yerba Cha will allow me to continue to follow my passion in outdoor sports and lifestyle, while at the same time building my entrepreneurial side. It's the best of both of worlds!”
